A favorite meeting place for the best part of the past century, Roaring Camp offers multiple options that allow your group to select activities and entertainment designed to keep your group together.

Indoors... meet inside spacious Bret Harte Hall...or outside... surrounded by redwood trees and coastal oaks.

Bret Harte Hall -- Bret Harte Hall is ideal for corporate events, team building, private parties, seasonal events, product introductions, trade shows, training seminars, themed parties, social events, family reunions, weddings, concerts and performances.

As big as the great outdoors, Bret Harte Hall is 6,120 sq. ft. of unobstructed meeting space with a 32-foot high ceiling, raised theatrical stage, and on-site prep kitchen. Added features of this 1880s-styled building are massive doors that open onto a covered reception area and adjacent lawn.

Forested Picnic Grounds -- Accommodate groups of 25 to 2,500.

Outdoor picnic areas are located throughout the grounds. Some sites may be reserved for your group’s exclusive use. Reservations for picnic tables located around the main barbecue area are subject to availability. Some examples of outdoor picnic sites are:

Upper Deer Creek – 250 occupancy, includes BBQ pits
Deer Creek Left – 250 occupancy, includes BBQ pits
Deer Creek Right – 79 occupancy, includes BBQ pits

Bring Your Appetite -- Roaring Camp’s famous Chuckwagon Barbecue includes heaping servings of mesquite-grilled steaks, chicken or ribs (vegetarian, kids plates, and lighter fare are available) with fresh salad, ranch-house beans, corn on the cob, sourdough roll, choice of beverages and marshmallows to toast. You can add hot apple pie or real ice cream.

Moonlight Train Party -- Take your group on a romantic moonlit rail excursion. Evening includes a Chuckwagon Barbecue steak dinner and Country Western music. Join the caller and learn line dancing.

Starlight Evening Train Experience -- Marvel at the beauty of a venerable redwood forest lit up at night from vintage Pullman and open-air excursion cars as your group travels under the stars from the boardwalk in Santa Cruz and back aboard the Santa Cruz, Big Trees and Pacific Railway.
